Ever since the beloved series ended in 2013, rumours have been surfacing about an upcoming Breaking Bad movie.
Online film publication Revenge of the Fans, put their investigative skills to good use and worked out who would feature in the movie – currently in production under the title Greenbrier.
However, confirmation of the film was only attained by the man himself, Mr. Walter White.
In an interview on The Dan Patrick Show, Bryan Cranston not only confirmed that a film was on its way but he mentioned that he also spoke to the producer, Vince Gilligan, about the project. However, he stated that he had not received or seen a script yet.
“There is a question [of] whether we’d even see Walter White in the movie. I would absolutely do it [play Walter again] – it’s Vince Gilligan and he’s a genius.”
He added that he would like to see some closure for a few of the storylines that were unresolved during the duration of the show. (So would we, Bryan, so would we!)
It appears that the main protagonists of the show, Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul, have been confirmed to reunite for the film.
According to the website, Revenge Of the Fans, which has released what it believes to be the entire cast line up. The reported line may surprise fans because Bryan’s character met his fateful end in the show.
Other returning faces mentioned include Jonathan Banks (Mike), Charles Baker (Skinny Pete), Jesse Plemons (Todd), Matt Jones (Badger), Robert Forster (Ed, aka The Disappearer), Tess Harper (Mrs. Pinkman) and Kevin Rankin (Kenny).
However, there still isn’t sufficient information on when the film will be set or the premise of the storyline- so assumptions on whether it will resume the story as a sequel, or simply function as a Breaking Bad universe spin-off are still afloat.
Bryan added: “I’m excited about it because it’s Breaking Bad and it was the greatest professional period of my life and I can’t wait to see all those people again.” (We can’t wait either!)
